The application is part of the Smart4Aviation Smart MOBILE group of applications designed to assist pilots in calculating flight parameters and setting up waypoints.
While initially developed for EasyJet, it fully supports other brands.
The goal was to present all waypoint-related data in a modern format to make it easier and faster for pilots to track and edit flights.
Additionally, displaying this data on mobile devices allows pilots to prepare for their flights more effectively. The designs also needed to support branding efforts.
The wireframes were developed in Axure after conducting UX research with stakeholders. The high-fidelity mockups were designed in Adobe Illustrator.
I enjoyed working on such an intriguing project. The feedback from the clients, who are pilots, was both interesting and often surprising. For instance, they indicated that, in addition to day and night modes, an additional high-contrast mode was necessary for use at high altitudes.
Furthermore, stakeholders and end-users expressed interest in having an Apple Watch application integrated with NavLog. This allowed me to create wireframes and mockups for this fascinating device.
