NavLog
NavLog is an application used for navigating commercial passenger aircraft during flight. I contributed to this project as the lead UI designer.

White labeling
The application was designed using Adobe Illustrator and fully engineered to support white-labeling ecosystems (showcased here with screenshots from the EasyJet custom profile).

The application also natively supports dedicated dark mode and high-contrast theme variations.
The dark theme optimizes flight crew readability during nighttime operations, while the high-contrast variant ensures perfect display visibility during high-altitude cruising under intense, direct sunlight.

Outcome

This project taught me a fundamental lesson: even if you are entirely confident in your designs, back them up with thorough research, and follow the latest UI best practices, real-world edge cases can always surprise you.

For this specific application, the ultimate challenge was the iPad's glossy screen. When used at high altitudes above the clouds, extreme sunlight and screen glare rendered the interface practically unusable. We successfully solved this critical usability issue by introducing a dedicated High-Contrast Mode.
