Overview
Umowmy.to is an application designed for quick and easy booking of wellness and beauty services, such as barber appointments. The application is divided into two main parts: one tailored for individual users to schedule their visits, and a back-office system that enables salons to manage their staff and schedules.
My role
My role included:
- Facilitating workshops with stakeholders and end-users.
- Creating the name and branding for the application.
- Developing a custom design system tailored to the application.
- Designing the client-facing web and mobile applications.
- Designing the back-office web application.
Design system
The design system was created from scratch specifically for the application to address its unique use cases. It was built using Figma variables and stored as a separate library. The system supported white labeling as well as light and dark themes..
Final takeaway
The application was designed using an agile methodology. The design was fully structured around variables and components, making edits and updates exceptionally easy to implement. The development team utilized design tokens exported from Figma into a JSON file, which significantly accelerated the implementation process.
